Walcott Truckers Jamboree will celebrate its 30th anniversary Thursday and Friday, July 9-10, at Iowa 80 Truckstop with more than 150 exhibits, a truck beauty contest, antique trucks, a trucker Olympics and pork chop cookout.
Singer Aaron Tippin will perform Thursday night at 7 p.m., followed by a fireworks display and Super Truck light show. The concert is being sponsored by Mobil Delvac.
Friday’s events include cutting an 8-foot anniversary cake in the shape of a semi truck set to feed nearly 2,000 people. Jamboree admission and parking are free.Iowa 80 Truckstop, located at Interstate 80, exit 284, in Walcott, Iowa, will be celebrating its 45th anniversary in conjunction with the Jamboree.
